Seamless Semester is made by Throttle Mountain LLC. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we don't sell or share your information.
Without an account
You can use Seamless Semester without signing in. Everything you add stays on your device (in the app on iPhone and iPad, or in your browser on the web) and none of it is sent to us.
With an account
Signing in lets your semester sync between your devices. Then we keep:
- Your account. You sign in with your Throttle Mountain account at account.throttlemountain.com, which has its own privacy policy. Seamless Semester gets your account ID, email address and name from it, and keeps them so it knows whose semester is whose. You can change the name in Settings.
- Your school data. Terms, courses and class times, assignments and exams, grades, projects and your capstone, notes, study time and your settings. It's stored on our server, which runs on Cloudflare, in a database that holds only your data. A copy is also kept on each device you sign in on. We don't read it or use it for anything except running the app for you.
- Your signed-in devices. For each one: web or iPhone/iPad, a short device label (your browser's name, or the device's), and when it was signed in and last used. You see the list in Settings → Account and can sign any device out. The sign-in token itself is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Your calendar link, if you make one. "Subscribe in Calendar" creates a private link to your classes, due dates and milestones. We store it only in hashed form. Anyone who has the link can see those, so keep it to yourself. You can make a new link or turn it off in Settings.
- Connected apps, if you connect one. If you connect Claude (or another AI app), or create a personal token, that app can read your semester, and change it if you allowed that. We keep the connection's name and when it was made and last used, and store its tokens only in hashed form. What the app does with what it reads is covered by its own privacy policy (for Claude, Anthropic's). You can disconnect it any time in Settings.
- Logs. Our server logs errors and a few events, like a failed sign-in, so we can fix problems. Those logs can include your account ID but never your school data. Cloudflare also records basic details of each request, like the IP address, to run and protect the service.
Reminders
Due-date reminders on iPhone and iPad are scheduled by the app on your device. There's no push server, and nothing about your reminders is sent to us. The same goes for the Home Screen widget.
Deleting your data
- Things you delete go to Trash and are removed for good after 30 days, or right away with "Delete forever".
- Delete your account in Settings → Account. That deletes your semester from our server, along with every sign-in, your calendar link, your personal tokens and your connected apps.
- Deleting your Throttle Mountain account deletes your Seamless Semester account too.
- The copy on a device goes away when you delete the app, or clear the site's data in your browser.
- You can export everything as a file any time in Settings → Data.
Students and children
Seamless Semester is made for college students. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep their information.
If you email us
We get your email address and your message, and use them only to reply. Ask and we'll delete them.
Your choices
- Use the app without an account, and nothing leaves your device.
- Depending on where you live, you can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account in Settings does the second one yourself.
Changes and contact
If Seamless Semester starts collecting anything new, we'll update this page before that ships. Questions: contact@throttlemountain.com.
